About
As an editor, writer, and curator, I create and interpret art projects that activate cross sections of my community. My storytelling work concerns material and social hierarchies of the past, and how contemporary artists, craftspeople, and designers are upending them through cross-disciplinary creative practice.
I moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2012 for an internship at Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Fresh out of journalism school and a museum internship at the University of Oregon, I explored my new community by interviewing and blogging about artists. A job at an arts-focused public relations firm swiftly followed, plunging me into Santa Fe’s highly competitive and distinctly multicultural gallery world. One of my clients hired me as their marketing director, a role that expanded my curatorial research and writing experience.
Since then, I’ve conducted curatorial and communications work for galleries and museums focused on modernism, postmodernism, and contemporary art. In 2014, I co-founded an art collective for emerging artists and writers, which spun off into a project space on the Santa Fe Plaza. With co-directors Kyle Farrell and Alex Gill, I developed experimental curatorial methods that emphasized an artist’s agency within an artist-curator dynamic.
From 2018 to early 2024, I was the director of form & concept and Zane Bennett Contemporary Art, a dual gallery in the Santa Fe Railyard that challenges the perceived distinctions between art, craft, and design. The gallery’s programming acts as a conversation between many converging disciplines, harnessing the power of contemporary creative practice to shatter entrenched narratives.
Now, as editorial director of Southwest Contemporary, I shape curated and critical perspectives on contemporary arts and culture throughout the Southwest. The publication supports Southwest-based artists and arts organizations through our print and digital platforms, and produces events and career development programming.
In my parallel efforts as a freelance journalist and critic, I have contributed to Hyperallergic, New Mexico Magazine, Santa Fe Reporter, Santa Fe New Mexican, and other publications.
In my free time, I’m an endurance runner and avid outdoor adventurer.
I live on unceded lands of the Tewa people, O’gah’poh geh (White Shell Water Place), also known as Santa Fe, NM. This is the context in which I edit, curate, and live, and I strive to honor the ancestral stewards of this place.
